This is the case in countries such as China, where Maybelline’s finished products may be tested on animals before being allowed to be sold in the market. However, L’Oréal announced that since 2014, “certain products manufactured and sold in China like shampoo, body wash or make-up are no longer tested on animals.” The brand has been committed to working alongside Chinese authorities and scientists to alternative testing methods, but there are no guarantees that this statement applies to other countries.
